Opening up to new opportunities isn’t easy for myself and I am sure for a lot of other people. It’s easier to stay in our comfort zones, to accept how life is and just keep plugging along. The past year I have been out of my comfort zone more than I have been in it. Opportunities in the very beginning starting coming to me quickly. Honestly, I shut them down, looking back I may have self-sabotaged them as well.
I wasn’t ready, I didn’t have it figured out, I didn’t know what I was doing, what I wanted to offer and the list of excuses went on and on…Uncertainty is scary, the unknown is risky and starting a new endeavor felt very overwhelming. Luckily, I have a support team that are honest with me and keep pushing me out of my comfort zone. Recently, I had a new opportunity come my way. I told the person, “I only say yes to projects/collabs that are a HELL YES and this is one of them”. (As I write this, we are in the process of wrapping up the project, stay tuned to how it turned out).
My first clients are my friends, who have turned into my mentors. They push me to keep expanding my mindset to start opening up to new opportunities. We have created a team to crank out some amazing projects together. This past week I have taken a leap to jump on a new project with another designer.
The reason I said yes very quickly to this opportunity is because it was a decision made by my gut. This project aligned with my skillset, I could seen the vision, I could confidently complete the project promptly and the project itself, sparked excitement in me. Moving forward, that will be my criteria to saying yes to upcoming projects.
Let's switch gears for a minute and talk about the the picture above. You will notice a Welcome Mat that I used on my first project and on all the projects following it. It is the first product I bought for the Airbnb.
Here's why I ALWAYS, first invest in a door mat.
They offer a warm greeting to anyone who steps through your front door. They not only serve a practical purpose by helping to keep dirt and debris from being tracked into your home, but they also add a touch of personality and style to your entrance.
When selecting a door mat, consider the size and shape that will best fit your entryway. Take a look at this tiny door mat in front of this grand step. The majority of welcome mats home owners purchase are too small for their door, entrance, porch and their steps.
Target has the perfect rug for the price, quality and most importantly the size.
This one looks and feels so much better
A door mat is more than just a functional household item. It's an opportunity to welcome guests with warmth and style, while also keeping your home clean and tidy.
A well-chosen door mat can reflect your tastes, set the tone for the decor inside...
and brings a smile to your face every time you walk through the door!

And last but not least, the way I've discovered to unlock new opportunities, it's putting yourself out there, showcasing your work and your experiences on a platform consistently.
If you have had a conversation with me lately about social media, which I have been talking to a lot of people about...it's all about SHOWING UP! You first show up for yourself and then slowly it turns into showing up for your followers. Thanks for following!
